Presence
Soderbergh tests his directorial skills in this clever supernatural story shot entirely through the eyes of the phantom. After a clan with Lucy Liu as Rebekah and her distressed teen Chloe occupies their new suburban house, the camera – representing the ghost – shadows their actions. The Black Phone Horror
Scott Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller remains effective without requiring a continuation. Located in 1970s Colorado, several child abductions has made the local kids anxious. After Finney gets captured by the villain and imprisoned in a basement, he anticipates the worst. Yet the old telephone on the wall continues to ring, with ghostly voices providing assistance, and the prophetic visions of his sister Gwen might rescue him. A genuinely scary movie. The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the battle between spirituality and money, it's a knockout win for greed in this director's brilliantly over-the-top true story regarding the shamed religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Garfield plays the venal Jim, who states early on, asserting religious justification for riches. Both individuals commence profiting from the nation's religious faith. It's a riot of poor styling, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, yet Jessica Chastain succeeds to present Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. Tuesday 14 October, late night, on Film4

The current week's additional entry from the filmmaker is a spy mystery as precise similar to the collars worn by the actor's UK spy. The two stars are experts of understated style, so a delicious mental battle of fact versus fiction unfolds. Tom Burke, Regé-Jean Page, Naomie Harris and Marisa Abela participate the clever spy entertainment. Friday 17 October, multiple time slots, Sky Cinema Premiere
